There’s something deeply satisfying about building a tool that does one thing and does it well.

In a world obsessed with “platforms” and “ecosystems,” the humble single-purpose script or utility often gets overlooked. But these tiny, boring tools are the ones I come back to every day.

They don’t need onboarding. They don’t have pop-ups or dark patterns. They just work — and in working, they quietly make my life easier.

Sometimes, progress doesn’t come from grand new inventions. It comes from shaving seconds off the tasks you do every day. From removing friction, not adding complexity.
